These shortbread cookies, covered in powdered sugar, are also just right as a treat with your morning coffee.

2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (a pinch of using salted butter)
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1/3 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Cream butter, vanilla, and 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
Whisk flour with salt and stir in.
Stir in chopped nuts.

Roll tablespoon of dough into balls and place on prepared cookie sheet
Bake for 10 minutes.

While still warm, carefully roll cookies in powdered sugar.
When completely cooled, sift powdered sugar over them.

Store in airtight container.
